What warranty do you offer on your products?
All our products are covered by a 10-year warranty, except for electric towel warmers and pedal bins, which come with a 5-year warranty. Our warranty reflects our commitment to lasting quality and timeless design.
Can I mount products with adhesive or glue, and how do I remove them?
Many of our products can be mounted using our tested adhesive system, iComposite GLUEMIX, which is developed to provide a strong and durable hold without drilling. For shower baskets and single hooks (#3455), a separate mounting plate (F966) is required.
We do not recommend gluing heavy-duty items such as bath handles, swing-out towel rails, or products from the AIR and DRY series. For details regarding your specific product, always refer to the installation guide provided with the product.
If you wish to remove a glued product, gently lift it with a spatula. Applying light heat with a hairdryer can make the adhesive easier to release.
How do I install self-adhesive products?
Smedbo’s self-adhesive products must be mounted on a clean, dry, and smooth surface for the adhesive to bond properly. Detailed installation instructions are always included in the product packaging and can also be found on the product page of our website. Please follow these instructions closely. If a product does not adhere as intended, contact us with your order details and photos, and we will provide a solution.
Where can I find measurements and specifications?
All standard measurements, including CC dimensions, as well as installation guides are available directly on each product page. If you require any additional technical information beyond what is listed online, please contact our customer service team, and we will be happy to assist you.
How should I clean my Smedbo products?
To preserve the timeless quality of Smedbo design, we recommend regular cleaning with a soft microfiber cloth and lukewarm water. A mild soap solution may be used if necessary. Always dry the surface thoroughly after cleaning to prevent water spots or limescale deposits. Avoid abrasive pads, steel wool, or harsh sponges, as they can scratch or damage the finish.
Can I use cleaning agents?
Most of the time, lukewarm water is sufficient. For deeper cleaning, only use a mild, non-abrasive pH-neutral cleaner (pH 7.5–9.5). Strong, acidic, alkaline, chlorine- or alcohol-based cleaners should be avoided as they may cause staining, corrosion, or loss of finish. If such products are used elsewhere in the bathroom, ensure your Smedbo items are protected from splashes.
How do I care for chrome and stainless steel finishes?
Wipe regularly with a damp microfiber cloth and dry with a clean cloth to avoid water spots. For stubborn limescale or stains, use a mild cleaner designed for chrome or stainless steel. Always test on a small area first. Never use steel wool, scouring pads, or abrasive powders, as they will scratch the surface.
How do I care for brass finishes?
Smedbo’s polished brass products are lacquered to preserve their shine, while matte brass may naturally develop a patina over time. Clean with a soft microfiber cloth and warm water. For lacquered brass, never use abrasives or metal polish, as these may damage the protective coating. For unlacquered or matte brass, a gentle brass polish may be used if you prefer to restore shine.
How do I care for black finishes?
Black finishes should be cleaned with a soft microfiber cloth dampened with warm water and then dried thoroughly. Avoid abrasive cloths or cleaners, as these may scratch the surface or dull the finish. Do not use acidic or alkaline cleaning products. With regular gentle cleaning, the black finish will retain its depth and durability.
How do I maintain and use my soap dispenser?
Our soap dispensers are designed for long-lasting performance, but certain factors may affect their function:
Why does the soap sometimes appear discolored?
Discoloration may occur if the soap has a high pH value. We recommend using a mild, pH-neutral soap, as alkaline soaps can react with the metal components and cause a brown tint if the dispenser has not been used for a while.
What should I do if the pump head is stuck?
This is usually caused by dried soap residue inside the pump. Flush the dispenser with warm water whenever you change soap to keep the pump mechanism clean and working smoothly.
Can the dispenser be used for hand sanitizer?
Yes, our soap dispensers are suitable for both liquid soap and hand sanitizer.
How do I use and maintain my heated towel rail?
Our DRY heated towel rails are electric models designed for everyday convenience and safety.
How long is the power cord?
The power cord is 140 cm.
Can a heated towel rail replace my bathroom radiator?
No, our towel rails are electric only – we do not offer waterborne versions.
Why does the timer sometimes stop working?
The timer has a built-in overheating protection. If too many towels are placed on the rail, it will switch off automatically. Remove some towels, turn the unit off, and let it cool for about 15 minutes before using it again.
Can the on/off switch be positioned on the left side?
No, the switch cannot be moved. However, models FK700, FK701, and FK702 can be installed upside down so the switch is placed at the top left. Be sure to mount the rail at a suitable height for safe access.
How do I install and maintain my LED mirror?
Our LED mirrors are designed for both convenience and longevity. The power cord is approximately 80 cm in its standard position and extends up to 170 cm when fully pulled out. The arm joints can be tightened if they become loose—there is a slot underneath where you can adjust with a suitable tool.
The LED lighting itself is maintenance-free and cannot be replaced, but each unit is designed to last for up to 50,000 hours, ensuring long-term reliability without the need for bulb changes.
